10 months!!

Wow..another month old!! I can't believe in 2 months my baby will be 1 year old!!

This was a month ago 5/15

This last month has been sooo busy! This month next month is going to be even busier. My baby girl is growing up so fast!! She is standing up on things. She gets up on her knees and then I stand her up and she loves it. She is not afraid to get down on her own....she just falls and smiles at us. It is sooo cute. It is going to be very soon that she is doing this on her own.

Then my poor baby got sick. She already has to have allergy medicine every morning and then she got a cough. She had some wheezing when I took her in on May 17th so we had to give breathing treatments. At first she did not like them but then she got used to it and always fell asleep. A week of this and then we went back for a checkup. At that checkup she had a double ear infection and wheezing still. Then we went back for that check up on June 7th and she was all better...finally!

We also went on our first beach trip!! So much fun. We had lots of friends and family come with us. Charlette, Mommy, Daddy, friends Sarah and Braelyn, Grandma Cathy, Cousin Brodie, and cousins Alanna and Ari. Charlette loved the water. The spray park was great. We will be going back for more fun :)

Then it was Memorial weekend! This was a big weekend. Started out Thursday Charlette and I got out of work early went to pick up Joe and went on our way to Detroit. What for?? To pick up GRANDMA TRACI!!! We had a cookout at Aunt Kelli's house and at Joe's parents house over the weekend.
At Grandma Cathy and Papa Kirk's house swimming in her first swimming pool. She is in her first bikini that her Grandma Traci got her.
We went to the Memorial Day Parade. Charlette liked it!!

The best thing that happened that weekend was Charlette and Grandma getting to spend lots of time together :)

The next weekend Charlette learned how to move forward. FINALLY! Well.... now I am not sure if its a good thing...lol. She looks like a wounded soldier. She uses one arm and then drags the rest of her body. It looks soooo funny.

Then Friday was my birthday and Charlette had a fever high and low through Friday and Saturday. It finally went down to normal last night. Did not know for sure what was causing it but thought it was her teething. Friday morning she had one on top break through. Then last night (Saturday night) she kept waking up crying like she was in pain. So I was putting Orajel on her thinking maybe that was the problem. While doing this I felt that she had a molar poking through her gums....OUCH!! It is soooo swollen and looks very painful. Today she has no fever and is in a VERY good mood! All over the place!!

11 month update next and then a 1st birthday update :)

Almost 9 months!!

This month has went by so fast. Life is getting busy with summer coming son and Charlette's 1st birthday is sneaking up on us. I cannot believe in just 3 months and 8 days my baby girl will be 1!!! She is not crawling yet..lol! She definitely can get to whatever she wants and it is hilarious to watch. She sits up and then falls over to scoot on her belly or roll to something. Here is a picture of her showing me all of her toys :)

Her favorite toy since Easter is her pink Easter egg. She shakes it around and hits it on everything.

This is Charlette at daycare! She loves daycare :) She enjoys being around all the crazy kids. Charlette is for sure on e of the popular ones and she knows it....smiles and gets her way all the time. Well..how could you tell this smiling face no...lol!!

We have done bubbles for the first time with a couple of our babies at work. Charlette did not know what to think. She had the funniest face just watching them go by. If one popped by her she would jump. This is how she reacted while a little boy next to her was screaming and chasing them...hahaha.

A couple days later we tried again and she enjoyed them much more. She started to reach out for them and smiled a lot :) I love all the FIRSTS!!

Charlette is getting some more teeth. She is getting for sure 1each side of her top 2. And I think maybe 1 on each side of her bottom 2. 4 TEETH AT ONCE!!! OUCHCHCH!! It has been a rough month but we are getting through it. Last weekend I could not get anything done. She wanted to be held all day for 4 days. Poor baby!! I of course held her. She needed some extra attention to get through that weekend. Then that next week I noticed 1 of those 4 teeth has poked through so that explains it all. We use Orajel but I don't like to use it too much. Only when she really neeeeds it. I give her teethers but she prefers to just chew on her finger. This is how you will usually find her.

Well....she is growing fast and her personality is growing and growing!! I love to watch all the new things she discovers and all the new activities she learns to love!! Her faces that she makes at us these days are so funny :) I am trying to update at least once a month for everyone and for Joe and I to look back on when she is older.

Very first Easter!!

Charlette had her very first Easter!! Friday before Easter we had a family Easter egg hunt. She loves playing with the eggs (not real...lol). Her daddy helped her find one and that was all she needed :)

Then she played with her cousins and mommy helped her color her first egg. She observed mostly.

Saturday night we had dinner with mommy's family :) Sorry we forgot we had the camera...no pics :(

Sunday morning she found her first Easter basket in the middle of the living room, the Easter bunny hid it in an easy spot for her this year :) It was filled with Easter eggs, a book, a new pretty dress, some bunny ears, and a bunny that sings. She was not a big fan of the bunny but she loved her book and eggs.

After breakfast we got ready for church. She was well behaved and sang when the music was playing. Soooo cute!! She was very tired and danced and snuggled just to keep herself awake. Church was right at naptime. We then went to brunch at grandma Lewis house and then came home, took a nap, and then had a family dinner with daddy's side.


Today we went to the butterfly house! It was so much fun and I can't wait to go again. It was nice to get out of the house and do something a little different. Charlette loved all the colors and beautiful things to look at :) It was an awsome day with my baby girl and hubby!!

Dr. Appointments....UUGGHH!!

Charlette has been sick a lot since she has been born. Not serious, no fevers, but a constant runny stuffy nose. I can not do much for her but wait and see if it goes away. We took her to the doctor many times to try to figure out why. Well last time we went she was wheezy so we put her on singulair. Her cough finally went away :) BUT the runny nose still continued! Took her in today for her checkup on the wheezing and we have come to the conclusion that she has allergies. I am so upset. I hope as she gets a little older it clears up. We are trying Zyrtec to try to help so we will see. Even though she sounds sick it is nothing that others can catch and she is in good spirits :) My girl is tough!!

We found out today that she weighs 22.2 lbs...lol! At least we all know she is eating well. She will be 8 months on the 8th of April. Cannot believe it. She is not crawling but she is definitely working on it. She scoots every way but forward and gets very frustrated when she cannot reach something. Very soon!!

New Teeth

Charlette has two new teeth! She is going to be seven months old on the 8th and she has four teeth. Two top and two bottom. She is still getting used to the two top ones. She has a hard time eating....it is so funny. I love when she smiles and I can see all four teeth. She looks like such a big girl. Her first top tooth was the left one and it came in on February 23rd. The second one just broke through the skin a couple days ago. She is in a lot of pain and I feel so bad for her. She is in a lot more pain with these two than she was with the bottom two. I hope the next teeth to come in are not as bad as these ones.

She got her first piggy bank and I was super excited to find it! Don't know why I am so excited but I am..hahaha! We are looking forward to Easter and we can't wait to see her in her beautiful dress that her Grandma Traci is sending her :) Not much to say today. I will be posting some more pictures soon.

6 months

Today is Valentines day and it is Charlettes first!! She had a visitor today...her Aunt Liz came to see her. We are going to her cousin Gary Lee's birthday party later. Then I think mommy and daddy are going to rent a movie and TRY to watch it :) We don't get to watch many movies due to the little one yelling at us every time we try to sit down!!

Charlette is doing great. She is the easiest baby ever. She never fusses. The only time she will fuss is when she is getting tired or hungry. She is on a great schedule though so I just automatically lay her down or feed her before she starts to get cranky. I am loving her going to work with me. She is still nursing 4 times a day and eating her fruit and cereal in the morning and her veggies and cereal for dinner. I was afraid I was over feeding her because she is so chubby but the doctor said I am doing everything fine and it is just baby fat...lol!

Her toes are soooo cute! She had her 6 month checkup on the 8th and she weighed 20.3 lbs and was 27 in long. Her weight was off the charts and her height was 85th percentile. He said it was completely fine though. He walked in and the first thing he said was "Looks like I am going to have to call the social services on you two for starving your baby" LOL!!!

She plays patty cake now. It is so cute. When you start to sing the song she starts clapping her hands. I LOVE IT!

She is sitting up by herself now! She will fall over every now and then but she just rolls right on to her tummy and looks up at me. She is just getting too big! Every new thing that she does I almost cry. I guess I am just going to have to get used to her growing up :(

This picture is of her first winter walk. Also her first time sitting front ways in her stroller. She looked like a big girl and of course it made me tear up a little. She loved her walk and it was nice to get out of the house for a while. She watched her doggy the whole time we were out. She didn't know quite what to think :)

1/17/10

She is sleeping through the night. She goes to bed at 8 every night. Almost every night without a fuss. Every now and then she will cry cry and cry but only if she is extra tired. She wakes up at 4ish to nurse and then she wakes up at 7-7:30 to nurse and wake up for the day. I don't mind getting up early with her. We see daddy for a bit on the weekends before he goes to bed for the day so that is nice. She then plays, eats her food and takes her morning nap. I get things done and have time to sit for a while before she wakes up. She takes about a 2 1/2 - 3 hour nap so it gives quite a bit of time :) She takes a second nap around 3:30 for an hour or 2. I love her schedule and I love that she sticks to it almost every day!!!

This day she was extra tired in the morning..lol!! She fell asleep while I was getting her breakfast ready....soooo cute!! 1/17/10

We have a new member of the family!! Joe's cousin had her second baby. Little Brooklyn Sue. She is so tiny :) So we had a nice visit with them and Charlette got to see everyone.

One of Joe's best friend's wife is going to be having a baby girl. Casey and Melissa. This picture is at Melissa's baby shower. She stayed awake til the very end and then she laid her head on me and just fell asleep. She has not done that since she was just a new born. I snuggled her for a while but then it was time to go. I thought for sure she would wake up when I put her in her seat but this is proof that she for sure did not. 2/13/10
Even after I straightened her out to buckle her in she stayed asleep. She was a sleepy girl ;)

Her favorite things to do are read books, sing songs ( twinkle twinkle, ABC's, head and shoulders, and itsy bitsy spider are her favorites) belly time (she scoots around in a circle), patty cake, and bobbing her head up and down (she thinks is very funny). She is great around crowds but she LOVES to be home...like her mama!! She has got up onto her knees and hands but plops back down. Very soon though she will be scooting around. I am not ready. As small as my house is I still need to buy a gate or two.

So this is our update. We are all doing well. Daddy is working midnight shift still and 7 days a week. We are very busy and always have something going on so every chance we get to stay home just the three of us we take advantage. Charlette's next appointment is in 3 months and I will try to do another update before then.

Major Update!!!!

So life has been extra busy with the holidays and I must admit that Facebook has taken over my blogging time! I missed my Thanksgiving post so I will give a small update and then I will move on to Christmas.

Just a random picture of the family. Thanksgiving was really nice. Charlette's Grandma Traci came home and we had a long weekend to spend with her. We had my moms side Thanksgiving and then that Saturday we had Joe's King side Thanksgiving. This was the first BIG holiday with all the family get togethers. She got a pretty fall dress to wear for the special occation and she was very good for all the busyness going on around her....and being passed around!!!

Then the real busy time started. Daddy has been working 7 days a week and so I was at home with Charlette (when not working) getting ready for Christmas. It is very difficult to keep everything up...my down time is when Charlette naps and this is when I clean and get my self around. Luckily Charlette has a pretty steady routine. Christmas has just passed and the New Year is here. I am excited to start the New Year with the baby and I am hoping Joe will be able to slow down at work soon and spend some more time with us. During December daddy did get to go to the Christmas parade with us...Charlette's first!!!

Christmas was the craziest time for our little family. We had 6 Christmas parties to attend!!! And I thought this was a lot before I had Charlette. No matter how good she is (she was great at all of the parties) it is a lot of work and alot of energy for Charlette to deal with. I want to thank everyone for the nice things they all got Charlette. She is so little still and she was SPOILED rotton...lol!!! It is so hard not to buy her stuff...I told myself I would not buy her alot but that didn't happen....she was spoiled by her mama and daddy too...oh and Santa!

This Christmas was so special! Having a child makes the Christmas spirit 100 times stronger. During our Christmas break Charlette got to meet quite a bit of her family that was not able to see her before. Her Grandpa Chris, Aunt Joni, Uncle John, and her Porter side of the family, and some of her cousins on the King side are all the poeple she got to meet. As she gets older I hope everyone can see her more often. We also got Charlette blessed on Sunday. She was so good she allowed them to hold her...without crying...as long as she had he thumb. Then right after they blessed her we sat back down and she fell asleep on me. She was tuckered out.

The New Year is here and I am going back to work tomorrow. I hope Charlette will be able to get back into the routine easily. She might have got a little used to her mama giving her 100% of her attention all day long. Well...at least she gets to come to work with me....even if I am not always the one taking care of her she is in the same place as me :) I am so blessed to be able to do this.

Charlette has also started cereal. She is doing great with it. She has moved up from rice cereal to single grain oatmeal and I think she likes it better. She has been eating this for almost a week now and in a couple more weeks I am going to start her on veggies!!! She is the funniest and MESSIEST eater ever. She will not make a sound while I am getting the spoon full ready and then as soon as that spoon is in her mouth she will jibber jabber a whole story :) I laugh and tell her she needs to learn not to talk with her mouth full!!!

We went to the doctor today because Charlette is sick. She is ok...just a cold with a very bad cough. It is so sad she coughs when she is sleeping and haas to keep putting herself back to sleep. She wines for a couple seconds and then is asleep again :( She also is in the beginning stages of an ear infection. We caught it early and got her meds so it should be gne in a couple of days. My poor baby girl. Daddy was a trooper today too....he woke up and went into the doctors office with us with only a couple hours of sleep...my poor hubby :( Anyway..we found out the cereal is helping her gain weight..as if she needed too...lol! She now weighs 18.10 lbs. She will be 5 months in 4 days and I can't believe it! We have to go back in a couple weeks for a check up and we will see if she is any bigger then.
